Residual Pressure Indicator System

Camlock fittings are used frequently whenever constant connecting and disconnecting are required. Vacuum trailer operators use these fitting every day to load and unload. These style of fittings are tried and tested to hold pressure and prevent leaks from the trailer. The dangerous part of operating them comes from how the back end of these trailers are configured.

The rear flange has an air inlet installed to aid in clearing out hoses and preventing spills after disconnecting. These air inlets are prone to leaking allowing pressure to build without the operators knowledge. The RPIS intends to notify the operator and/or anyone else around the trailer about the state of pressure in the flange. This will aid in preventing accidental releases of pressure and accidental spills resulting from failed butterfly and/or ball valves.
